Underwriter for Reverse Mortgage Company

We are a reverse mortgage company seeking an underwriter. Senior processors will be conisdered for entry-level in this position. Local candidates only as there will be no relocation assistance.Underwriter Job DescriptionAn individual committed to professionalism; highly organized; can work under strict deadline schedules; has excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills. Duties include but are not limited to -- • Reviews and evaluates information on loan documents to determine if borrower, property and loan conditions meet established company and/or government standards • Reviews appraisal, credit report, applications, etc. to ensure that each loan meets secondary market, Investor and company standards• Determines whether loan documents are in compliance to standards and determines course of action required in order to be in compliance• Approves or rejects loans based upon loan documents submitted• Handle customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and staying abreast of any changes in loan underwriting guidelines• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed• Report to the VP of Underwriting • Comply with any reasonable oral or written directive of any appropriate AdministratorRequire high school diploma or GED along with 5-7 years of experience in mortgage banking as a processor or underwriter.
